Tech Talk: Loopback – The Node.js API Framework
March 30, 2016 @ 7:00 pm UTC+8
Another month means another Tech Talk!
For our March Tech Talk, we have Eugene Ter providing technical overview of StrongLoop’s Loopback framework.
LoopBack is a highly-extensible, open-source Node.js framework.
Loopback is a powerful Node.js framework on top of the popular routing framework express and could be considered as the first “enterprise ready” framework bringing out of the box features like:
– quick scaffolding with out of the box REST compatibility
– strong ACL support
– data source abstraction (SQL / noSQL databases, Object Stores, E-Mail, etc.)
– SDKs for iOS, Android, Angular etc.
– Build-in API Explorer
Probably because of that fact Strongloop, the company behind the LoopBack framework and an active members of the Node.js community, was acquired by IBM.
Who’s this for?
Web developers who are looking for an enterprise ready framework to quickly gain speed and rapidly develop first applications.
• Loopback overview
• Quick modelling of data models
• connect to a SQL/NoSQL database
• REST API and API explorer
